Police: Pregnant woman robbed at knifepoint in North Naples

NORTH NAPLES, Fla. — A man pulled a knife on a pregnant woman and demanded she hand over her purse Monday night on Pine Ridge Road just east of Airport-Pulling Road, the woman told police.

The woman, 26-year-old Pratima Dhole, is now afraid to leave her house and has had nightmares about the attack, as she said to WINK News.

“It happened in a fraction of a minute,” she said.

Dhole said she was walking in front of Waterfalls Auto Spa at 2630 Pine Ridge Road on her way to meet her husband at a nearby Target store, where they planned to buy a crib. Before she could get there, a man pointed a 4- to 5-inch knife at her stomach, she said.

“I was so scared,” she said.

Dhole, who is 37 weeks pregnant, handed over her purse, which contained the money for the crib. She escaped without injury, but her alleged attacker remains at large.

Dhole is pressing charges, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
