BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — A former director of the Bonita Springs Assistance Office was arrested last Thursday, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Marjorie Kasell-Johnson, 40, of Bonita Springs, has been accused of pocketing nearly $50,000 in donations that were meant to help others in need. Court documents show Johnson used the stolen money to pay her mortgage, dental work and to rent a Corvette. Johnson was released on a $10,000 bond and is facing charges of larceny and second-degree grand theft. The former director plead not guilty in court on Monday and was given a public defender.
