NAPLES, Fla. — Health officials have confirmed the ninth travel-related case of Zika in Collier County, the Collier Mosquito Control District said.

The eighth case of the mosquito-borne virus was reported last week. The only cases of local transmission in the continental United States are in neighboring Miami-Dade County.

The Collier mosquito control board decided last week to suspend aerial pesticide spraying because dry weather had reduced the mosquito population.
