Murdock Village developers seek Charlotte County approval

Published:

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Developers plan a 450-acre project with homes, retail businesses and a hotel on the Charlotte County-owned Murdock Village property, but hundreds of taxpayers have expressed opposition.

The developers would buy the land from the county, but the county would subsidize the construction of a road for the project that would cost about the same as the purchase price for the land.

The matter will be discussed at the Charlotte County Commission meeting, which starts at 9 a.m. Wednesday at 18500 Murdock Circle, Room No. 119.
