Cape Coral man arrested on counterfeiting charges

CAPE CORAL, Fla. A 27-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on multiple counterfeit charges, Lee County deputies said.

Luis Rodriguez Lorenzo was taken into custody after deputies discovered counterfeit credit card making equipment, 108 gift cards valued at $10,000, 10 counterfeit credit cards, a counterfeit Ohio driver’s license, seven money orders totaling $1,497, and a thumb drive containing 127 credit card numbers of unsuspecting victims in his Cape Coral Parkway apartment.

Lorenzo is facing charges of possession of counterfeit credit card manufacturing equipment, possession of personal identification information, possession of counterfeit credit cards and possession of a counterfeit driver’s license.

He was released several hours later on a $20,000 bond.
