Del Prado Blvd reopens after brush fire

CAPE CORAL, Fla. Del Prado Boulevard reopened Thursday afternoon after a brush fire forced a roughly three-hour closure in both directions between Kismet Parkway and U.S. 41.

The blaze ignited shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday morning in the area of Del Prado Boulevard and Coral Lakes Boulevard, police said. It was 100 percent contained by 2 p.m., firefighters said.

It burned an estimated 7 acres, the Florida Forest Service said.

There were no evacuations, police said. No structures were threatened, the forest service said.
