Cape Coral Bridge shut down for Fourth of July festivities

CAPE CORAL, Fla. The Cape Coral Bridge closed down early Tuesday morning for Independence Day festivities.

The bridge from College Parkway to Cape Coral Parkway shut down at 3 a.m. and is scheduled to reopen at 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

Drivers are advised to use the Midpoint Bridge, which runs from Colonial Boulevard to Veterans Parkway.

Another bridge closure will take place in Fort Myers Beach, where the Matanzas Pass Bridge will be shut from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The Matanzas Pass Bridge also closed earlier Tuesday for a parade. WINK News reporter Kristin Sanchez was there:
