NAPLES, Fla. A boil water notice remained in effect Tuesday afternoon due to Hurricane Irma’s effect on the water infrastructure, according to Collier County officials.

The boil water notice was enacted by the Collier County Public Utilities Department for all customers of the Collier County Water District including Goodland, county officials said.

The notice will remain in effect until water system repairs and acceptable bacteriological testing has been completed, county officials said. Testing is scheduled to be completed as water repairs are finished.

Residents are advised to boil water used for cooking or drinking, county officials said.
