People gathered to remember a mother and daughter lost in a violent four-car crash in north Collier County.

Loved ones spoke about Jennifer Henao, 19, and 1-year-old Catalea Henao at a vigil in Naples Friday.

“She loved her daughter,” said Yashelin Camacho, sister of Jennifer’s boyfriend. “She was a wonderful mother. She really was.”

Florida Highway Patrol told WINK News it is too early to confirm if there will be charges, as the crash is still under investigation.

The family of Jennifer and Catalea say the pain of losing their loved ones is still there.

“We see her on pictures and poster boards and t-shirts,” said Yashelin Camacho, sister of Jennifer’s boyfriend. “She’s supposed to be here with us.”

FHP reports a 21-year-old driver lost control of his car and hit Jennifer while she was driving with her daughter and in turn three other cars.

Jennifer was in the car with Catelya, her sister and her niece.

“She was happy all the time,” Camacho said. “She comes around and she was always smiling. She was the light of the room when she came in and that little girl had her whole life ahead of her. She was just 1 years old.”

Joe Camacho was Jennifer’s boyfriend, and he said she’ll be remembered for being an amazing mother.

“She was an amazing person,” Joe said. “She will never be replaced. I love her with all my heart.”

WINK News learned Jennifer’s sister and niece were released from hospital care Friday.

Charges for the driver who caused the crash are pending on a toxicology test. The crash report says it’s not clear if the driver was drunk.

As for Jennifer and Catelya, Joe wishes the situation could be changed.

“I love her,” Joe said. “I wish I could switch places. I’d switch places in an instant.”
