A man is accused of punching a senior citizen in the face several times then kicking him in the ribs once he fell to the ground. Investigators said the attack started because the victim showed him some common courtesy in the bathroom.

The attack happened last Wednesday at the McDonald’s at Merchants’ Crossing in North Fort Myers. The attacker is on the run, and the 68-yaer-old man who was attacked is reported to make a full recovery.

The suspect faces Battery On A Person 65 Or Older.

Investigators said the attacked happened around 2 p.m. at the shopping center on Pine island Road. The victim went to the fast food restaurant’s bathroom.

Lee County deputies said the victim saw someone locked the stall, so he knocked but didn’t get a response. Several minutes later, he tried again.

Then, a man burst from the stall, punching the senior citizen in the face multiple times and kicked him when the man fell to the ground.

Surveillance cameras captured the incident.

Investigators said the man was hurt during the attack but expected to make a full recovery.

Anyone who recognizes the man, or has any information on his whereabouts, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
