2 injured after truck hits golf cart inside Estero gated community

A golf cart was hit by a truck inside a gated community in Estero Monday.

Witnesses say the crash happened inside The Club at Rapllo just north of Coconut Point.

Estero Fire Department confirmed a man and a woman were seriously injured in the crash.

“There’s a lot of activity here,” neighbor Joseph Pelletier said. “A lot of people riding their bikes, walking their dogs all the time. This little spot right here where it happened is kind of, you can see how it happened because you go around the corner. It gets dark, and a lot of people hit it at 25 or 30 miles an hour.”

WINK News contacted Lee County Sheriff’s Office for further details, but a spokesman said they were unable to provide information while the incident was under active investigation.
