Pedestrian critically injured in crash on U.S. 41 in East Naples

Florida Highway Patrol responded to a pedestrian-involved crash in East Naples Thursday night.

State troopers responded to the crash on southbound U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail E) at the intersection with River Drive.

According to FHP, a pedestrian with alcohol in their system walked off a median along the roadway and was hit by an oncoming car.

Then, another oncoming car was unable to avoid the pedestrian while they lay in the street and also struck them.

The crash remains under investigation, and the injured pedestrian remains unnamed pending next-of-kin notification. However, it’s confirmed they pedestrian is a male from Naples, and he is being treated for critical injuries at NCH.
