FHP investigating hit-and-run crash with injuries in North Fort Myers

Florida Highway Patrol arrested a man for fleeing the scene of a crash, Monday morning in North Fort Myers.

According to FHP, Parker Smith, 20 was driving north on U.S. 41 with another vehicle driving in the northbound direction beside him.

The side of Smith’s vehicle collided with the side of the second vehicle, causing both to run off the roadway and in to the ditch.

Smith fled the crash on foot but was later found and arrested by troopers.

One passenger in Smith’s vehicle suffered minor injuries. No others injuries were reported.

Smith was charged with Hit-And-Run with Property Damage, and Hit-And-Run with Injury and Careless Driving.
