Stranger gives out $50 bills to random families in North Port

Call it fate, or a chance encounter.

Several people say they were at the right place at the right time when a stranger handed them an envelope at the North Port Walmart.

Its contents will have a lasting impact, especially for people like Melissa Violka, a mother of twin girls.

“It was just a lot of uncertainty, feeling overwhelmed,” Violka said.

And for single mom Daniella Nicole Kuschnik, who is out of work.

“It’s the beginning of the month, you realize this bill is due, this bill is due…” she said.

But a chance encounter with a man at the Walmart in North Port on Thursday offered new hope.

“He just walked up to me and said I see that you have a family and kids, please take this and handed me an envelope,” Violka said.

Inside was a letter, Bible verses and a $50 bill.

“I sat and cried happy tears for a little bit,” Violka said.

“Obviously the financial was huge, I think that catches peoples’ attention but it’s more or less the gesture that he went out of his way to help other people,” Kuschnik said.

The letter is signed by “Ron and Cher,” and both moms want to find the couple to express their gratitude.

“I wasn’t expecting the kindness that this family shared,” Violka said.

“He’s impacted a lot of people’s lives, did a lot of good for so many people,” Kuschnik said.

At least three parents in North Port say they’ve received the envelope.
