An American Heart Association virtual silent auction got underway Thursday to support its mission “to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.”

While the AHA Heart Ball is on pause in Southwest Florida due to the coronavirus pandemic, the organization continues to raise money to benefit others.

Golf, vacation and dining packages are among auction items available to bid on at the virtual silent auction.

To date, the American Heart Association says it has committed $2.5 million dollars to the research of COVID-19 and its impact on heart disease and stroke survivors, as well as millions more over the years in scientific efforts to learn more about the health and wellness of all.

The auction continues Friday and ends 9 p.m. Saturday.

WINK News’ sister publication, Gulshore Life magazine, is a proud sponsor of the AHA event.
