The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office says a man died after being shot Thursday night. Deputies say they responded to a call in the 800 block of Harlem Gardens in Clewiston after a deputy on patrol heard gunshots. As he attempted to find the source of the gunshots, people approached him and said they found a man who had been shot and was unresponsive. The victim was later identified as 34-year-old Anthony Eric Balkom of Clewiston. He later died at the hospital. The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office major crimes unit continues to look for information about the shooting. Anyone with information can call (863) 674-5600.
