13-year-old Lucas Lanham (WINK News) While many Trump supporters came out to the Caloosa Sound Convention Center (formerly the Harborside Events Center) to support the president, there was also a somewhat unexpected group waiting outside: children. Several children, some that looked to be no older than seven, stood by, decked out in red, white and blue, ready to see the president drive by. To them, it’s not about politics, debates or even police. It’s all about seeing a moment in history. “I am just going to hold it out like this and maybe wave to him,” said 13-year-old Lucas Lanham of his flag. He had one hope for Friday, one wish he wanted so badly to come true. “I am just really excited to see him because I have never seen a president and all these people —it is awesome to see them,” he said. As he shouted the president’s name at the top of his lungs, right beside him was his mother, Katie. Katie Lanham (WINK News) “I want to support. I love Trump. I love what he has done for our country, he loves America,” said Katie Lanham. She would do whatever it took to bring her son a moment he will always remember. “I am emotional because I know Trump is emotional and cares for our country and it just makes me proud to be an American,” she said. It’s quite the story that Lucas says he will remember forever, and quite the story to tell when he goes back to school Monday.
