The Super Bowl LV fan experience gets underway in Tampa Bay Friday, and for the first time ever, it’s free.

We got a look at fan attractions that includes a glimpse at the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The Super Bowl experience gives fans the opportunity to feel like their favorite athletes.

Fans can participate in drills such as the vertical jump, but organizers had to change their game plan, as they play defense against the spread of the coronavirus during the pandemic.

That’s why the Super Bowl experience will take place primarily outside, stretching for three miles along Tampa Riverwalk.

“If this had been an event that was inside a convention center like it has been since Super Bowl 43, we probably wouldn’t be able to produce it,” said Nicki Ewell, an NFL director of events.

Crews put up social distancing markers, hand sanitizer stations everywhere, and the NFL requires every visitor to wear a face mask.

“If you certainly don’t abide by the policy, you will be asked to leave,” Ewell said.

The interactive theme park at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park is sold out. It’s the activity where fans can take part in drills and see football exhibits.

But there are no tickets required to go to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, which will feature live music, food and drinks.

The outdoor celebration wraps up with fireworks Saturday, Feb. 6.

Whether you’re celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs or the hometown Tampa Bay Buccaneers, events director Jenna Grooms with the Super Bowl host committee hopes people will have safe fun.

“We can’t have events like this in the normal way that we are used to, so with some protocols in place, we feel really good with the safeness of this event,” Grooms said.
