A cat that went missing has been found.

It took three weeks and one day for Cody Dornbusch and Samantha Racine to find their lost cat, Rajah, who jumped out the window of the couple’s car at a Murphy gas station in Collier County.

The Minnesota couple, who were road tripping across the country at the time, drove away without noticing.

They didn’t get very far before realizing Rajah was gone. They stayed in Collier County, searching neighborhoods, putting up signs, setting up traps and vowed not to leave until Rajah was found.

The 10-pound cat traveled about 12 miles to Michelle Herrera’s home.

“I found Rajah Saturday morning,” Herrera said. “She was in my flowers meowing.”

Herrera assumed Rajah was a stray but her neighbor came over Tuesday and immediately recognized the feline.

“She said they’re looking for that cat and I said ‘no! Really?’ And she said ‘yes, I saw on the news,'” Herrera said.

Herrera found Cody and Samantha’s phone number and texted them photos of the cat.

“She was a little warrior, her back nails were all ripped up and she like it’s a little bit skinnier, but she’s definitely our kitty and we have her back,” Samantha said.

Rajah was greeted with lots of hugs and kisses.

“We were all crying,” Herrera said. “It was really, really emotional.”

If you find a stray animal, call domestic animal services or check Facebook to see if a family is searching for a lost pet.
