The Florida Gulf Coast women’s basketball team is just one win away from the NCAA Tournament and the ASUN Conference championship.

The Eagles got off to a slow start Friday but managed to take down Lipscomb University 59-44 for their 24th straight win. The top-seeded Eagles will face No. 2 Liberty on Sunday.

“We know what we’re capable of,” said guard Tyra Cox. “It’s also going to be about stopping liberty from doing things they want to do. Stopping their best shooters from getting shots, keeping them off the board is going to be really big and we just have to dominate possessions.”

Cox and her teammates aren’t letting anything distract them from getting another win, even if it means doing so on a neutral court for the first time.

“Leave it all out there and you never know what’s going to happen, you don’t know if tomorrow’s guaranteed or the next game is guaranteed but just give it your all,” Cox said.

“Being ranked, seeing us got a lot of wins, still undefeated in conference day by day, just seeing our improvements has been a huge inspiration to all of us.”

The Eagles tip-off against Liberty on Sunday at 2 p.m. A watch party is planned at Alico Arena. Admission is free and doors open at 1.
