Crash in south Fort Myers caused power outage

A vehicle crash in south Fort Myers has taken down a powerline and with it, electricity to a large swath of the area.

The crash happened on Andrea Lane. Andrea is closed in both directions, according to the South Trail Fire Protection & Rescue Service District.

No information is available on injuries.

The fire district said anyone at the businesses located behind the roadblock on Andrea will need to exit through the Galeana Dealership.

Many of the businesses in the area are experiencing a power outage due to the crash, the fire district said.

The fire district said FPL is on scene attempting to fix the issue. It could be fixed by 6 p.m.

An FLP power outage map states about 158 customers are without power.
