Three 11-year old students are accused of plotting to start a fire at their school, Lee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday.

LCSO says the trio attends Six Mile Charter Academy in south Fort Myers.

The sheriff’s office says the three students face a first degree felony charge.

In a statement the charter school said it’s very proud of the brave students who came forward to report what the suspects planned to do.

There is no further information at this time.

WINK News is not naming the children or showing their faces because of their age.
