A rainy, cloudy, cooler Monday is in store for Southwest Florida. Highs will barely climb into the mid-80s during peak heating.

An early round of showers and weak storms will continue to move through our area before weakening before lunchtime.

Midway through the day, expect a second round of thunderstorms to form along the coastline. These storms will move to the east, eventually bringing rain chances inland until sundown.

Apart from Monday, an umbrella will come in handy on Thursday and Friday. Scattered rain chances and cooler temperatures are on tap for the end of the work week.

Boating conditions will be unfavorable, due to our gusty winds. Expect choppy waters regardless of thunderstorm development.

There is one area in the North Atlantic that we are monitoring for potential cyclone development. It has a medium (40%) chance of formation over the next five days. This system would likely have no impact on Southwest Florida if it develops.
