Florida Highway Patrol says a 21-year-old from Jacksonville died after colliding head-on with another vehicle on Immokalee Road in Collier County on Saturday night.

Troopers say three cars were involved in the crash. They say around 7:30 p.pm Saturday, the man who died was travelling east on Immokalee Road, east of Oil Well Grade Road, when he entered the westbound lane to pass traffic in front of him.

Troopers say two vehicles were travelling westbound at the time. The first one moved to the shoulder and was sideswiped moments before the car travelling east collided with the front of the second vehicle travelling west.

The person in the second vehicle travelling west suffered minor injuries in the crash. Troopers say everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.
