In part of Saint James City on Pine Island, residents will be without water on Tuesday night for a planned water shut-off. The water is expected to be restored by Wednesday morning.

The water for residents south of the entrance to Tropical Point Drive in Saint James City will be shut off at 10 p.m. on Tuesday. The outage will not affect Citrus St., Tropical Point Dr., Papaya St., Cove St. and Sabal Ave.

The Greater Pine Island Water Association says the outage is to repair a leaking valve on Stringfellow Road near Snowbird Lane. They say 2,300 customers will be affected.

The water is expected to be restored on Wednesday morning with a precautionary boil water notice for the affected residents.

You can find additional information about the outage on the Pine Island water website by clicking here or calling 239-283-1071.
