An arrest has been made in an 18-year-old homicide case.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said 43-year-old Sean Boles was arrested for the death of a man found in Lover’s Key State Park in 2004.

The man, who was not named, was found with stab wounds.

Deputies determined Boles was responsible for the death but said he had fled to Canada.

A warrant was issued for his arrest, but authorities were unable to find him until he was pulled over in Oklahoma in January, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Boles was booked into Lee County Jail on Thursday.

Authorities say he faces a charge of manslaughter and evidence tampering.
