A North Fort Myers man riding a bicycle was left seriously injured after an SUV rear-ended him on Pondella Road late Tuesday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 70-year-old man, riding a bicycle with no lighting or reflective safety equipment, was traveling west on Pondella Road, approaching the intersection of Pinecrest Street just before midnight. An SUV driven by a 54-year-old Cape Coral man was traveling west on Pondella Road, approaching the bicyclist from behind and then crashing into him.
The man on the bicycle was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center with serious injuries.
