A 47-year-old Port Charlotte woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by 20 years of probation for two drug trafficking cases.

Thea Psathas has also been given a $100,000 fine in each case, so she is expected to pay back $200,000 as part of her sentence, according to the state attorney’s office.

Psathas did an open plea to the court instead of having a jury trial.

Prosecutors say, in 2018, Psathas sold drugs to a confidential informant and an undercover officer with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office on numerous occasions.

The transactions were caught on video surveillance as part of an undercover drug operation.

In each case, the defendant was charged with trafficking by possession in amphetamines 28 grams or more, sale or delivery of a controlled substance, and transportation of a drug paraphernalia.

Psathas was arrested after she tried to steal $14 in items from a Walmart in Lee County, prosecutors said.
