A Naples man was arrested Wednesday as a suspect in a shooting at a Fort Myers strip club in February.

According to a Fort Myers Police Department arrest report, officers received multiple calls about gunshots heard coming from the area of Cleveland Avenue and Hill Avenue around 10:15 p.m. on Feb. 26. Other calls were received about a vehicle being driven away from the scene and about said vehicle being “dumped” near the intersection of Roger Street and Grove Avenue, with multiple people running out of it.

By speaking to one of the callers, FMPD officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle parked in front of a home on Roger Street with numerous bullet holes in it and with a flat front right tire. The officers set up a perimeter to allow FMPD K-9 units to start tracking the unidentified suspects. Others stayed with the suspect vehicle.

As officers began to set up another perimeter in the general area of McGregor Boulevard and Colonial Boulevard, they were informed by another witness that the suspects were hiding beneath a building in the area of the Key West Professional Center, located at 1342
Colonial Blvd. K-9s searched the area. During this time, Lieutenant Robert Kerbs discovered the gunshots had been fired at the Allure Night Club, located at 3654 Cleveland Avenue.

No one was shot, but there were reports of property damage.

On Wednesday, Jacob Martinez, 25, was arrested in Collier County. He faces charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and discharging a firearm in public. Martinez is currently being held in the Collier County Jail.
