A woman from Illinois was arrested on charges of disorderly intoxication and negligence after deputies said she was belligerent at a hotel pool and bar on Fort Myers Beach while children were in her care.

According to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, a woman was at the Lighthouse Tiki Bar and Grill’s pool and bar on Monday when she became increasingly belligerent with staff and customers.

Employees told deputies that Ashley Reno, 33, of Godfrey, Illinois, was intoxicated and said there was an altercation. When the deputy spoke with Reno and asked about the incident, she said, “it’s none of your business.”

According to the report, the deputy continued to try and speak to Reno, but her level of hostility continued to grow.

Reno attempted to leave the restaurant several times and told the deputy, “she just wants to go home and the people at the bar can watch her children.”

While attempting to get her wallet out of her purse, she began throwing items out of
the purse and yelling obscenities in front of her child.

Reno was arrested and faces charges of disorderly intoxication and culpable negligence.

The Department of Children and Families is investigating and took custody of the children.
