Authorities are investigating after they say a suspect assaulted someone near Capone’s Coal Fired Pizza in downtown Fort Myers on Aug. 6.

The suspect was seen just before 3 a.m. on camera.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, the man has long hair, possibly in a man bun, wearing long sleeves, a burgundy-colored shirt, long dark-colored pants, white shoes, and was riding a scooter.

The suspect was seen riding his scooter in the downtown area before the incident.

The victim said he was attacked when he decided to head home for the night.

“It happened so fast like I left the place without any problem and got my bike … had started to ride away without any trouble. And then next thing I know I’m in the little alley, next to Capone’s and you know, the Main Street-First Street sidewalk,” he said.

The victim wants his name out of the spotlight, but he also wants the person responsible found.

He was left on the ground with a fractured ankle, a brain bruise, and multiple fractured bones in the head and face, including his eye socket.

“I was continued to be punched and possibly kicked in the face while on the ground,” he said.

A good Samaritan saw what was happening, jumped out of his car and the attacker ran away.

The victim said he hopes the pictures will lead to an arrest.

The victim was transported by EMS and admitted to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“Now we have a picture of him. If he’s downtown, chances are he lives around here. He’s got some kind of connections, someone’s going to know who he is,” said Trish Routte, with SWFL Crime Stoppers.
