Congressman Byron Donalds (R) won the Congressional District 19 nomination over Jim Huff.

Donalds will face Cindy Banyai in the Nov. general election for the District 19 seat.

Donalds won the nomination with over 87% of the overall vote.

Donalds cast his vote on Tuesday in Golden Gate.

Donalds is looking ahead to the election and what Donalds is calling “spirited debates” to come with his democratic opponent Dr. Cindy Banyai. Donalds has said that when it comes to his opponent, there isn’t much they agree on.

Donalds said Banyai’s agenda is not what the American people or what the people in Southwest Florida are looking for.

Donalds is going to do his best to reach voters from across the aisle.

“I tell them listen what I stand for is making sure that small business owners can get access to capital that we can make sure we have a sound and safe environment here in Southwest Florida and that the federal government does its job and no more and doesn’t stop them from living the American dream,” Donalds said.

But, Donalds will also have to face the no-party affiliated opponent Patrick Post.

Donalds expressed a lot of gratitude for the win and said it was a relief that he got such overwhelming approval from the voters in Southwest FLorida.
