Moises Rios Avila, of Kissimmee, was caught on camera taking an Amazon package from a home after he dropped off an order from Red Robin, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. It happened on Aug. 21 at about 7:13 p.m. in the Legacy Park neighborhood off unincorporated Davenport, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office called it a crime of opportunity. “Now, we don’t have any evidence that Moises left home that day with the intent to steal from anyone, but we do have this video evidence that shows he certainly took advantage of the opportunity when it presented itself,” the sheriff’s office said. Avila’s tag number was also captured by the HOA’s security video, the sheriff’s office said. Avila told authorities he took the package “as a prank.” He faces a charge of burglary and petit theft.
