Fort Lauderdale man found guilty of deadly 2017 Collier County crash

A Fort Lauderdale man has been found guilty of causing a deadly crash in Collier County in 2017.

According to the State Attorney’s Office, Marcus Coleman, 27, of Fort Lauderdale, was found guilty of vehicular homicide and two counts of reckless driving causing serious injury after a four-day trial.

On May 17, 2017, the State Attorney’s Office says Coleman crashed his car into another vehicle with three women inside. The driver of the car he hit died, and the other two women were injured.

The State Attorney’s Office says Coleman had marijuana and alcohol in his system at the time of the crash.

He is set to be sentenced on October 17.
