The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested two people who they say were packaging drugs for sale in a carport on Saturday.

LCSO arrested Willie and Pleshette Young, both 41 years old, who the sheriff’s office says had more than 12 kilos of narcotics in their possession.

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said deputies responded to the area after being alerted to a residential alarm. He said the deputies found the Youngs, a husband and a wife, standing at a table that was later determined to have two kilos of amphetamines on it.

The Youngs were detained while the narcotics unit responded and searched the Young’s home. Inside, they say they found an additional 10 kilos of amphetamines and a loaded firearm.

“When you talk about amphetamines, I mean, usually it’s, it’s prescribed by a doctor, and definitely not 12 kilos. So you know, when you start using these types of narcotics, you know, it leads to so many different things and so many bad things. I mean, what you see here today, definitely could have killed the people using it,” said Marceno.

Both Willie and Pleshette Young are facing charges for trafficking amphetamines. They have each been released on a $30,000 bond.
