Isles of Capri in Collier County was quite a ways away from the eye of Hurricane Ian, but that does not mean it was spared from the wrath of the large storm as it made its way across Southwest Florida.

On the island, debris lines the streets as people clean out their homes of furniture and appliances that were destroyed.

In front of one home on the island, an unusual problem has arisen due to a large wooden dock that was washed into their yard and was left there when the water receded.

The dock is resting on top of a water main outlet. If it is moved improperly, it could rupture the water main and cause more flooding and water supply issues in the area.

WINK News reached out to local law enforcement and the fire department on the Isle of Capri, who said they were aware of the dock restricting access to the water main, but already have their hands full.

Officials say they are waiting for the proper personnel to be available to remove the dock without damaging the water main.
