The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a former Cypress Lake High School student after they say he was trespassing on school property.

According to deputies, Cypress Lake High School students in south Fort Myers reported to school resource officers that Braydon Ricker, 18, was on school property on Monday.

The sheriff’s office says Ricker had been arrested on two separate occasions in 2021 on charges of arson that they say he committed at the school. They say he was expelled from the school following an administrative hearing.

Deputies say the students who reported seeing Ricker on campus were fearful for their safety because they were familiar with what he had done in the past.

When deputies spoke to school personnel, a teacher also reported seeing Ricker on school property and at a school football game on October 21.

The sheriff’s office says school resource officers reviewed security camera video from the school, confirmed that Ricker had been on campus, and handed the investigation over to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

During their investigation, deputies got a tip that Ricker was using a laundry room at an apartment building near the school. When deputies searched the laundry room, they found Ricker sleeping on the floor.

Ricker was arrested and is facing charges of trespassing and disrupting the peace. He is being held at the Lee County Jail on a $9,000 bond.
