The “Ban the Jab” resolution passed with a majority vote in the Lee County Republican Party and will now head to governor DeSantis’ desk.

The resolution calls on the governor to ban the sale and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine claiming it is a “bio-weapon.”

The governor knows the resolution is coming. WINK News called his office on Wednesday and told them, hoping to get a comment. That didn’t happen, but the Lee County GOP vice chair said the debate leading up to the vote was robust.

“These shots are deadly. They need to be pulled off the market,” said Joe Sansone, Lee County Republican Executive Committee member.

Sansone had an idea to write a resolution for the executive committee of the Lee County Republican Party to consider. His goal was to call on the governor to ban the COVID-19 vaccine.

Sansone argues the risk is not worth it. “If you got this shot, you go home and hug your pregnant wife; she can have a miscarriage through skin contact.”

On Tuesday night, the Lee County Republicans voted and passed the resolution. No one’s happier than Sansone.

“The Lee County Republican Party is going to be on the vanguard of this campaign to stop the genocide because we have foreign non-governmental entities that are unleashing biological weapons on the American people,” Sansone said.

WINK News interviewed Sansone just hours before the vote. He said it would be a tough vote. “It’ll be a coin toss whether we pass or not.”

The coin landed in his favor, getting the two-thirds majority necessary to pass. The Republican Party of Lee County can now put the resolution before the governor, but DeSantis can ignore it.

Suppose the governor decides to sign the resolution and lawmakers pass legislation banning the COVID-19 vaccine. In that case, a big fight on multiple fronts could break out, starting with whether a ban is constitutional.

One person who voted no said the debate was a mess and not the type of issue the Republican Party should be focusing on right now.
