A passenger was killed and his driver critically injured in a crash early Friday morning on Everglades Boulevard North in Collier County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 27-year-old Naples man was driving south on Everglades Boulevard North. The car traveled off the road right and collided with a mailbox, a trashcan and a tree. The driver sustained critical injuries and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center. The 28-year-old passenger, a Naples man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
