Mostly cloudy Sunday with cooler temperatures

Published: Updated:

Sunday will be a gloomy mostly cloudy day, and all that cloud cover will keep us much cooler with highs only in the 70s for SWFL.

The rain chances we so desperately need are arriving with this cold front tonight, this is crucial being that we are in dry season.

These rain chances are helping to lower the fire danger potential and improve the drought index. Expect isolated rain and storms into late this afternoon and tonight.

The front will be pushing out of the area Monday morning but we could still have a few residual isolated showers left over. Skies will begin to clear with winds shifting out of the north for Monday afternoon.

A cool down is on the way heading into next week once the front leaves the area. Thanks to the dry air behind the front and winds shifting out of the north temperatures are going to drop. Highs could be in the 70s with lows in the 50s and low humidity.
