The Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a water rescue scene where it was discovered that three people had died.

According to the deputies, three people went down in the Caloosahatchee River near the W.P. Franklin South Recreation Center and never returned.

LSCO responded to the distress call shortly after 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Life-saving measures were performed on all three victims, but all three have died.

Investigators tell WINK News that foul play is not expected, and it appears that all three individuals did not know how to swim.
