Major Crimes Unit detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Courtney Parchman for murder while engaged in robbery and tampering with evidence on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old faced charges in the shooting death of an employee at the Royal Jacks Arcade, 505 Pondella Road, North Fort Myers, on June 1, 2024.

Investigators were called to the scene shortly after 4:30 a.m. to a reported business robbery with one victim deceased.

The Special Operations Unit executed a search warrant on Riverfield Road in Cape Coral. In the video below, detectives can be heard ordering Parchman to exit the home and put his hands up.

Neighbors described the scene as ‘Like a war zone’ as the SWAT Team and deputies moved into the neighborhood near Pine Island and Barrett roads.

“I just let my oldest son out by himself yesterday, so that’s actually scary. I let my kid out there, and there is some guy out here doing random stuff like that,” Chase Reiter told WINK News Reporter Jillian Haggerty.

Parchman was taken into custody without incident. His criminal history included charges of burglary, grand theft, battery, and drug possession.

The investigation remained active and ongoing. Detectives continue to follow up on leads and investigate any additional witnesses and suspects.
