It is going to be a steamy Sunday. Temperatures will top out in the 90s, but feels-like temperatures will be warmer, reaching the triple digits. Scattered showers and storms are possible, but more so in our inland communities. Despite having the chance of rain, Sunday will be the driest of the next week. Tropical moisture will work from the Caribbean into Southwest Florida in the week ahead. “We can expect to see locally heavy rain throughout the week as a result,” added The Weather Authority Meteorologist Lauren Kreidler. “Monday and Tuesday will act as transition days ahead of the tropical moisture.” Wednesday through Saturday, we can expect scattered to even widespread rain across Southwest Florida. The upcoming rain will help us with our drought and keep our high temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s, a few degrees cooler than we have felt. Mostly cloudy skies, in addition to the rainfall, will lead to the slightly cooler temperatures. The National Hurricane Center is not highlighting any areas for development over the next 7 days.
