Alfie Oakes, one of the wealthiest men in Southwest Florida, will not be on Collier County’s Republican primary ballot in August.

According to the Collier Supervisor of Elections, Oakes, founder and CEO of Oakes Farms and State Committeeman for the Republican Party of Florida, failed to properly file the required documents for his reelection campaign.

In a letter to Oakes dated June 14, 2024, the Collier Supervisor of Elections, Melissa Blazier, said, “the candidate qualifying documents that were received in the Supervisor of Elections office were not properly filed. Therefore, you did not qualify for the Republican State Committeeman position.”

Would-be candidates were supposed to file their completed qualifying paperwork by noon Friday.

Oakes was seeking a second four-year term as the Collier’s GOP committeeman.
