Boy Scouts building accessible library in front of SWFL Historical Society

Published: Updated:

A local Boy Scout troop is making the world a better place one book at a time.

Boy Scout Eagle candidate Scott Kula is currently hard at work with Troop 117, building a free library to go in front of the Southwest Florida Historical Society, which is located at the corner of McGregor Boulevard and Colonial Boulevard.

The scouts hand-built it using recycled materials, and even better, it’ll be wheelchair accessible and short enough for kids to reach.

Anybody will be welcome to take or leave a book.

“It’s important because it brings an audience to the Southwest Florida Historical Society, and it also helps people to go out and read more,” Kula said.

The little library is set to be finished in just a few days.
