The Charlotte County Human Services Department is now accepting applications from low-income homes to receive assistance on their energy bills.

The application process is available through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, which the Florida Department of Commerce supports.

Around $721,763 was awarded to the program by the Department of Commerce.

The assistance program is available once in a 12-month period to eligible households based on monthly gross income, to help offset the high cost of home energy.

Applications will be accepted through June 30, 2025, or until all funds are expended.
