Authorities responded to an active scene at a 7-eleven in Fort Myers after a woman was stabbed early Friday evening.

WINK News spoke with the victim who said she thought she was getting some of her items back after a recent break-up.

Rachel Harper is a regular at the 7-eleven and thought it would be a safe place to make the exchange with her ex’s new partner. But once the two met up, that’s when the other women pulled out a knife and attacked her.

This happened a shortly after 5:15 p.m. On Hayley Lane, near Summerlin Road and Boy Scout Drive.

“She told me to meet her here, that she has all my stuff and she’s gonna, she’s gonna burn it. So I came here to meet her here, and she pulled the knife on me,” said Harper.

One employee of the 7-eleven told WINK News he stepped in to help, causing Harper’s attacker to flee the scene.

Just down the road, a second scene took place on Hayley Drive, that’s where witnesses say the woman ran off after the stabbing.

Harper may be bandaged up, but the pain goes much deeper than her arm, as she thought she was going to die.

“She threw so many attempts to strike my neck, my stomach. She got me deep down to the bone on my arm.” said Harper. “I have a little son. I have an eight year old, and I thought that was it for me.”

Harper said if it was not for one of the 7-eleven employees stepping in, things could have been much worse than stabs to her arm.

Fort Myers Police said that after a brief search, the woman has been detained in this case.

Harper told WINK News she needs multiple stitches in her arm and she will be pressing charges.
