Suspect arrested in Papa Johns armed robbery

A man has been arrested in connection to a robbery of a Fort Myers pizza shop.

Fort Myers police confirmed the arrest of Shadarien Lamar Ward, 22, on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Crime Stoppers, a man walked into Papa John’s at 3412 Cleveland Ave. at 8:45 p.m. on Sept. 1, brandishing a gun.

He reportedly grabbed the employees and pistol-whipped one of them before taking all the cash in the register and fleeing on foot, stealing around $700 from the register.

Due to the violent nature and other aggravating factors, the case was adopted by the Fort Myers Police Department’s partners at the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms
