Deputies investigating body found near Hancock Bridge Parkway in North Fort Myers

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation near Hancock Bridge Parkway in North Fort Myers.

Deputies arrived on the scene just west of Iron Way, at around 9 a.m. Friday, and cleared the scene about 90 minutes later.

The perimeter was wrapped with yellow caution tape while law enforcement worked the scene.

Earlier deputies were seen examining a vehicle and trunk while filling evidence bags.

A coroner arrived at the scene with a body bag.

A man present on the scene was seen talking to deputies.

The man has not been detained and has been seen crying close to the scene.

LCSO confirmed that it is a non-suspicious death investigation, and they are not identifying the deceased until finding the next of kin.
