Charlotte County in need of volunteers for hurricane clean-up

The Community Organizations Active in a Disaster in Charlotte County need volunteers to help clear debris following Hurricane Helene.

Those who wish to volunteer should report to the Volunteer Reception Center at 8:30 a.m. at the Family Services Center, 21500 Gibraltar Drive in Port Charlotte on Friday.

According to Charlotte County officials, volunteers will assess community needs and distribute important information about available resources.

Volunteers are encouraged to do the following:

  • Wear closed-toed shoes
  • Bring sun protection hats and sunscreen
  • Bring water to stay hydrated
